Turkey – Million Women Mentors

The Million Women Mentors program, dubbed Milyon Kadına Mentor in Turkish, connects private, public, and NGO sector leaders with young women (15-25 years old) for mentorship opportunities to help develop their career aspirations. In 2021, the goal of the program was to connect private, public, and NGO sector leaders with young women (15-25 years old) for mentorship opportunities in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields. Since March 2023, all young girls studying or newly graduated, regardless of field, and high school can now participate in the program.

The program was founded together with the U.S. Chamber’s U.S.-Turkey Business Council and its Women in Business Initiative co-chairs Ümran Beba (Co-founder, Beba Foundation & Partner, August Leadership) and Canan Özsoy alongside project partners TurkishWIN’s BinYaprak platform, STEMconnector, and TOBB.

The program convenes STEMconnector’s global expertise and TurkishWIN’s wide network of mentors, and mentees via BinYaprak’s digital platform. Milyon Kadına Mentor program is supported by Founding Circle Partners, Akbank, Turkey, Beba Foundation, Bridge to Türkiye Fund, Eker, EnerjiSA, PepsiCo Turkey, Pluxee Türkiye, Yıldız Holding The program will gain strength as it grows to support women on their career journey.

Convene Leading Mentoring Organizations

Convene leading STEM mentoring organizations to create a network of mentoring programs that support female high school and university students on STEM pathways and early-career STEM professionals.
