3M Seeks Non-Profit Partner for its STEM Equity Program

3M has issued a Request For Proposal (RFP) seeking a non-profit partner to support its STEM Equity program that helps advance equitable outcomes in STEM and Skilled Trades for underrepresented and under-resourced middle school students.

3M has a longstanding commitment to education and developing tomorrow’s workforce through strategic investments in STEM and skilled trades and through sharing the time and talents of our people. Recognizing that STEM disparities manifest at an early age despite similar levels of interest across ethnic groups, 3M aims to advance equity in STEM for one million underrepresented and under-resourced students. To continue this commitment and address the growing racial, gender and economic disparity gap in education, especially in STEM, 3M seeks to work with community partners engaged in promoting early age STEM education engagement.

Interested non-profits are encouraged to submit a grant proposal that showcases how their organization’s mission, outreach programs, and leadership support the goals of this RFP, how they would integrate 3M and its employee volunteers into the program, and what metrics/program evaluation will be used to track its success.

Total budget required to implement proposal is between $100,000 – $250,000 over 2 years, with opportunities to expand in future years.
